By installing and using CookieRay, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please uninstall the app immediately.

2. Description of Service

CookieRay is a cookie consent management app for Shopify stores. It provides:

• Customizable consent banners
• Cookie detection and categorization
• Consent logging and audit trails
• Analytics and reporting
• Google Consent Mode V2 integration
• Regional geo-targeting

3. No Legal Advice

CookieRay is a compliance tool, not a legal service. We do not guarantee that using CookieRay makes your store fully compliant with any specific regulation. Compliance depends on your specific business, region, and how you configure the app.

You are solely responsible for your store's legal compliance. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified legal professional for guidance specific to your business and jurisdiction.

4. Pricing & Billing

CookieRay is currently free for all Shopify stores. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future. If pricing changes:

• Existing merchants will be notified in advance
• You will not be charged without explicit consent
• All billing is processed through Shopify Billing

5. Your Responsibilities

As a merchant using CookieRay, you agree to:

• Configure the banner accurately for your store's needs
• Maintain a valid privacy policy on your store
• Correctly categorize cookies detected on your store
• Not use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Comply with Shopify's Terms of Service

6. Data Ownership

• Your banner configuration and settings belong to you
• Consent logs are collected on your behalf — you are the data controller
• CookieRay acts as a data processor
• On uninstall, all your data is permanently deleted

7. Availability & Uptime

• We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
• The app depends on Shopify and Cloudflare infrastructure
• We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party services

8. Limitation of Liability

CookieRay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

• We are not liable for any fines, penalties, or legal consequences arising from your use of the app
• We are not responsible for misconfigured banners, incomplete cookie categorization, or legal non-compliance
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (currently $0)

9. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. When we do:

• We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Material changes will be communicated via email
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms

10. Termination

• You may stop using CookieRay at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify store
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms
• On termination, all your data will be permanently deleted

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CookieRay Team is legally registered. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
